Is it OK to horse-ride in the snow?

I currently live in Bermuda. I am going to boarding school in Asheville, NC next year with my horse and I want to make sure that it will be OK to keep training, turning out and doing trails in the snow. There is no indoor ring, but the ring has special sand to help water drain.
