how many stamps should i need?

i live in asheville,north carolina. and im mailing about a one pound, or maybe one and a half at max. CD case with a cd in it. to a friend in columbus georgia…. how many stamps do i need? and about how long would it take? and am i able to drop this off in a regular mailbox or doesit have to go to the post office? thanks.

Printed By The Treasury Department, Bureau Of Engraving And Printing. Under The Authority Of James A. Farley, Postmaster General.
